BAILEY ALTSTAETTER

Instructor

Bailey began her dance training at Houston Dance Studio in Ohio at the age of 3. There, she trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and gymnastics. For 4 years, she danced competitively and fell in love with performing. At the age of 12, Bailey moved to California where her uncle owned a dance studio. She continued training there and began as an assistant teacher. By age 14, she taught her very own classes at Dance Emotion. She also auditioned and was accepted to OCHSA, the Orange County High School of the Arts, where she received extensive training in the Commercial Dance Conservatory. There she branched out into new styles such as modern and contemporary. In 2007, Bailey was accepted as a scholarship member on a hip hop team, Mavyn Entertainment, where she developed much of her hip hop style. In 2008, Bailey began performing as a backup dancer for several local music artists as well as dancing in many different shows and projects. She also began teaching competitively and has created high scoring routines which have won specialty awards such as “Most Entertaining”, “Best Choreography” and others. For 3 years, she coached the dance team at Marina High School. Currently she is an instructor for 2 local dance studios, and produces an adult dance Showcase that she created in 2014, Loose Cannons.  Bailey has an everlasting passion for the art of dance and enjoys passing on her knowledge, inspiring young dancers, and creating opportunities for upcoming artists to grow and shine.

JC BATO

Instructor

Jesicris Diputado Bato (most commonly known as JC) was born in Fountain Valley and later moved to Mission Viejo where he began dancing as a Freestyler competing in solo dance competitions. The freestyling foundation became the basis of his dance philosophy that then carried into his choreography career at the age of twelve. Performing became his new passion as he began to choreograph. In high-school he became a well known dancer and began a team called Urban Legends to further express his passion. As a president and coach for the team he brought the culture of Hip Hop to Tesoro High school performing alongside the award-winning cheer and color guard teams. In college he co-founded the Hip Hop dance crew Boomkaz and is currently a director of Infuse Dance Crew. He plans to inspire all he can with what he has learned transitioning from freestyle to choreography, and how it has contributed to his success as a dancer, and preserve his philosophy of "dancing for the heart and not for the fame.”

DELILAH CUNNEEN

Instructor

Delilah Cunneen has been dancing since she was four years old. She started her training at Clifton Dance Project where she specialized in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical. She attended Fountain Valley High School and was a part of the Dance Team for four years, while also continuing her training at Clifton Dance Project. She performed and competed at numerous events with both dance programs. Currently, Delilah is enrolled at California State University Long Beach, majoring in Film and Electronic Arts and minoring in Dance. Delilah aims to help her students perfect the craft of dance, as dance is something she is truly passionate about.

JAZLEY FAITH

Instructor 

Jazley has been dancing since the age of 5 and has over 15 years of training in various styles including ballet, tap, and jazz. During her  bachelor's at UCI, she traveled to Panamá twice with a non-profit organization Movement Exchange, where she taught dance to at-risk kids at youth homes and orphanages. Over the last 6 years or so, Jazley has been training & teaching Latin partner social dance styles, such as salsa, cha cha cha, & bachata.  Jazley is also a pointe shoe fitter and produces dance video content on YouTube for ThePointeShop. Lastly, she is also a dance photographer and loves working with dancers of all styles behind the lens. She has been teaching dance for over 10 years and is excited to share with everyone!

SARAH HONG 

Instructor

Sarah has been dancing for 19 years training in multiple styles including modern, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz and hip hop. She graduated from FVHS in 2010 and was on the dance team all four years where she was an officer since her sophomore years and captain her senior year. Sarah has received scholarships such as the James Plumb Memorial Award for Choreography, the Dorothy Duddridge Dance Scholarship and the Student Dance Awards from the OCC Dance Department. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BA in Dance and had the opportunity to travel and perform in Scotland with UCI and New York with Delineation Dance Company. She is currently attending CSULB for her Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics and she coaches for the FVHS Dance Team.

NICOLE SPONGBERG

Instructor

Born and raised in Southern California, Nicole has had a strong passion for dance since she was little and grew to love dance in her high school dance program where she was part of the dance team. She has trained in all forms of dance including jazz, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, tap, and Tahitian throughout the Orange County areas. She graduated from California State University of Fullerton with a BA in Dance where she had the privilege of being trained by well established professors and guest artists. Nicole has been teaching dance for over ten years and has choreographed for many shows and competitions. She loves the memories she makes with each one of her students and hopes to inspire all dancers to further their love of dance.

ANTHONY LANGUREN

Instructor 

Anthony Languren is a contemporary dance maker based out of Los Angeles. He previously trained at Mount San Antonio College, under Amy Bates-Nakamura, Mike Esperanza, Lee Martino, Michelle Shear, and Will Johnston. Anthony currently holds his B.A in dance from Loyola Marymount University. To supplement his education in dance, he is certified by Sugarfoot Therapy and has completed both teacher intensives hosted by Kelsey Nelson and Shannon Mather.

 

Over the years more recent years, he has had the privilege to present works, and teach, at Chapman University, Loyola Marymount University, Club Jete, Millennium OC, The American College Dance Festival, Mt San Antonio College, Allen Hancock College, Boogiezone Utopia, Dance Precisions, and various other competition studios around Southern California.

 

When not in the studio, Anthony teaches for a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles serving underserved youth and providing thousands of students with free dance classes in their schools. One of Anthony's proudest accomplishments is being artistic director/founder of Blurredink, an LA-based contemporary dance company.

HEATHER REYNOLDS

Instructor 

Heather has over 25 years of dance training with15 years of teaching experience. She began her training at Daria Bearden’s Dance Studio in Tustin California, where she studied under instructors including Daria herself, Victor & Tatiana Kasatsky, Hanna Karacic, and Laurie Persh. She attended the Kirov Ballet’s summer intensive in 2002 and ABT’s intensive the following year in 2003. She went on to join the Classical Dance Conservatory for Middle School at the Orange County High School of the Arts, while continuing her training in other styles (including jazz, lyrical, tap, modern, and hip-hop) and competing under Star Dance Academy. In 2005 she transferred to OCHSA’S Commercial Dance Department, had two years in the dot.Comm performance group, and graduated in class of 2008. Heather started her teaching career at Star Dance Academy and Girl’s inc. summer programs. In 2011 she started as assistant coach for the Century High School Dance Team. Two years later she became head coach and remained until 2017. While coaching she continued her training in LA studios, including two years as a work-study at IDA in Hollywood, as well as teaching at Beach Cities Dance Studio, starting in 2014. Along with having a developed Yoga practice and a Zumba certification, Heather also has an educational background in physical fitness and mental health and is currently finishing her degree at Cal State Fullerton.

ANNETT GUZMAN

Instructor 

Annett Guzman has been dancing for 5 years. She started when joining the Fountain Valley High School dance team she mainly dance in the style of Hip Hop. All while having The chance to perform at community events and competing in different routines. At the moment she is attending Orange Coast College majoring in English. In hopes of becoming an English teacher and possibly teaching in another country further into her career.
